M&A Engineering Ltd are able to offer a comprehensive range of petro-chemical machining equipment.

We have the capability of flange facing in excess of 2 metres diameter, bed machining of 3x2 metres in one set-up (infinite in multi-set-up with optical alignment), precision surveys, hydraulic drilling and tapping.

We also offer bespoke applications as shown in the top line photographs below.

 

 

Removal of 2 metre diameter, 50mm thick ‘Blister’ on top of Alkylation vessel.

Here, an acid blister had occurred at the top of an alkylation vessel and its sectional removal must be undertaken with a cold-cutting application.

 

Repair to fatal gasket leak on large exchanger bundle
Note the severe compression of the gasket face, highlighted by the ruler. The gasket face was machined to the required surface finish, and then the division plates slots were match-milled level to ensure a perfect integral gasket seal.

 

Repair to back face of exchanger bundle
A weld repair was necessary to allow a machining repair to the back face of this bundle.

 

Hydraulic Bolt Tensioning & Torquing

To compliment our existing in-situ and machine shop services we are able to offer a comprehensive Hydraulic Bolt Tensioning & Torquing service. All of our technicians have successfully completed training to Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) National Skills Development Scheme (NSDS) Units PF015, PF018 & PF019 Element 6 standard.

Our equipment is 'State of the art' with safety features that are not found on earlier designs. All ANSI and API flange pressures can be easily calculated on our sophisticated software that can predict optimum joint integrity sealing loading and offer printed certificates to prove joint integrity.
