De-compression Module
M & A Engineering Ltd have undertaken the precise in-situ machining repair to the seal locations on a Decompression Module, on board Bibby Offshore.

The seal grooves on the main seal housing, which locates the diving bell, the bottom of the trunk, and the accommodation hatchway required insitu-machining to ensure a gas tight seal when closed.

Main seal location and trunk
One of our range of facing machines was adapted to in-situ machine the angled grooves. Obviously perfect concentricity and surface finish were prerequisites for such a critical safety area.

The equipment is equally versatile in either horizontal, inverted, or vertical planes.
