Bibby Aquamarine - Decompression Module In-Situ Machining

The seal grooves on the main seal housing, which locates the diving bell, the bottom of the trunk, and the accommodation hatchway required insitu-machining to ensure a gas tight seal when closed.

One of our range of facing machines was adapted to in-situ machine the angled grooves. Obviously perfect concentricity and surface finish were prerequisites for such a critical safety area.
